Letter from the Executive President

"More than ever, we are aware of the importance of being committed to the development of a sustainable industry, being rigorous in the resources management and ambitious in the pursuit of new opportunities, as guidelines that have marked our journey and will guarantee the continuity of our project."

I am pleased to share with all our stakeholders the main highlights and performance of the company during 2022.

This document has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Non-Financial Reporting Law and following the guidelines of the international standard Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), with the aim of sharing with all interested parties the information regarding the environmental, social and economic impact of our activities in 2022, a year in which we renew for the tenth consecutive year the commitment made to the United Nations as signatory partners of the Global Compact.

In addition to the still serious effects of the pandemic, new difficulties have arisen as a result of the invasion of Ukraine, such as the rise in inflation, the increase in energy costs or the difficulties in obtaining materials and components. In this scenario, the financial health of our business project and the gradual recovery of our workload have helped us to recover part of our activity.

These new conditions represent a postponement of the recovery expectations in a market that is gradually restoring production rates for single-aisle programs such as the A320 and the B737, but still shows no solid signs of returning to pre-pandemic production rates for long-range aircraft.

In this context, we have intensified our commitment to strengthen our activities in projects aimed at building a more sustainable industry. The development of our relationship with Lilium has allowed us to strengthen our collaboration by converting the contract for the supply of aerostructures for the electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft into a design and build contract, and we have confirmed our participation as a reference supplier in the D328Eco program, joining Deutsche Aircraft's objective of driving the future of aviation towards a zero-emissions flight.

To meet this shared challenge of contributing to the sustainability of the aviation industry, we continue to make the necessary commitments to transform our capabilities. In addition to our status as founder of Clean Aviation, we are involved in the development of hydrogen propulsion as coordinator of the H2ELIOS project and member of NEWBORN, as well as in the project consortia associated with the development of the hybrid electric aircraft (HERWINGT) and the ultra-efficient aircraft (FASTER-H2).

Despite the tentative signs of market recovery, this year brings us one of the best news we could have hoped for: the return to our position as a generator of employment, with an increase in headcount of more than 17% by the end of 2022.

As we close a year in which we celebrated the 45th anniversary of the company, we look to the future with the same enthusiasm as the day I started this adventure. More than ever, we are aware of the importance of being committed to the development of a sustainable industry, rigorous in the management of resources and ambitious in the pursuit of new opportunities, as these are the guidelines that have marked our journey and will guarantee the continuity of our project.

Ginés Clemente Ortiz.
