In order to reduce the company's energy consumption, the following general initiatives have been implemented in all Alestis facilities in Spain to improve the efficiency of energy use:

  • Light management by installing motion sensors and programming lights to turn off.
  • Changing the set temperature of the air conditioning in the offices (19º in winter and 26º in summer).
  • Maintenance of workshop access roll-up doors to prevent energy loss.
  • Manage startup and shutdown of compressors and central vacuum systems.
  • Managing the shutdown of certain equipment during weekends.

In addition, more specific measures have been implemented in the following plants:

Sevilla

  • Replacement of the high-consumption lighting in the central building with LED lighting, which also makes it possible to achieve a higher level of illumination in certain areas where it is necessary due to the requirements of the work to be performed.
  • By increasing this general lighting of the plant to a higher intensity, it was possible to eliminate the specific lighting with an auxiliary structure that existed in the central area of the warehouse for the assembly tasks that were being carried out, resulting in energy savings due to this dismantling.

Tecnobahía

  • Improved insulation in the two buildings that make up the plant, by doubling their roofs and incorporating a layer of rock wool panels, which have high thermal insulation performance, resulting in energy savings.
  • Photovoltaic solar installation in self-consumption mode with an installed power of 994kWp, which will result in a 29% reduction in the plant's electricity consumption compared to the consumption in 2022. This installation is still in the testing phase, awaiting the authorization to operate from the regional administration.

As in the previous year, the measures implemented to reduce energy consumption are related to the optimization of production (from three shifts to one shift in the factory): optimization of autoclave curing, migration to the open energy market (renewable energy) and reduction of paint curing. However, there is an increase in resource consumption due to the recovery of activity after the health pandemic.
